I have a very “high stress” career and was suffering from long term insomnia. I tried so many things to stay asleep at night that it led me to look at what I was putting in my body. It was during this whole self-evaluation of my life and health, that I discovered essential oils. There are so many ways essential oils can support a healthy lifestyle and also eliminate chemicals in your home!
I have played around with various different oils to find ones that work for me and my body. I simply fell in love with them and it put me on my current path to become a certified aromatherapist!

My beautiful oily journey started when I was lamenting to a friend of mine about how I just needed some sleep! I had been promoted to management at my company 12 months prior, and as the stress piled on, my sleep became less.
I was tired, ooooohhhh so tired, and frustrated. I felt such despair as I tried so many different things to try and get good quality sleep. So when my friend suggested I try essential oils, I scoffed. I mean, honestly, if all my attempts were thwarted – how on earth were essential oils going to help me? However, at that point I would have tried anything just to help me sleep, and I did. I signed up for my Young Living Premium Starter Kit and waited patiently for it’s arrival.
As soon as my kit arrived, I diffused Lavender as it is such a beautiful aroma! I started using Lemon Vitality in my water, and this replaced the 1 whole lemon I used daily. Frankincense has become my skin’s BFF and I use PanAway after I finish my morning run!
I found that Petitgrain and Vetiver were exactly what I needed to relax and unwind at night. During the day when I get a little tensed up in the office, I simply diffuse Peace & Calming II or apply Stress Away and take nice deep breaths. I love how they smell!

My healthy journey continues!
I began by cutting out processed foods, sugars, gluten, and dairy to detox my body. It was super aggressive and tough at first. Then I started feeling amazing 12 days into this new lifestyle and my energy levels soared. I was bouncing as soon as I woke up and my caffeine intake reduced too!
I started to pay attention to everything I was putting into my body, but not what I was putting on my body or what I was cleaning with. It made me realize that the amount of chemicals in cleaning products was still getting into my body by simply inhaling them as I was cleaning. I couldn’t pronounce half the words and that woke me right up.
Since I am super committed to leading a healthy lifestyle, I need to change the way I am cleaning as well. I researched obsessively for DIY recipes to replace chemical household cleaners, and quickly became overwhelmed. Right at my fingertips was an easy answer… Young Living’s Thieves household cleaner!
