Hi, I'm Dara!

I discovered YL about a year and a half ago after someone in my house had been sick for about 5 months. Yes – you read that right, 5 months! I used all the usual things moms do to rid our homes of germs, but I couldn’t get whatever it was in my house. The dr. told me that someone keeps mutating the germs and it just recirculates – YUCK! Over the course of 5 months I was getting increasingly frustrated and talking a friend about essential oils, but I was skeptical. But, by the time that fifth month rolled around, I couldn’t take it anymore. At the same time, I was experiencing crazy hormonal swings and felt out of control of my own body and mind. I would get angry over stuff I knew wasn’t a big deal, but I couldn’t help it. One night I commented about it to my husband and he said, “Yeah, the boys are talking about it.” Awesome…not. I felt angry with myself and embarrassed (I’m in a house of all males, even our animals are male). That was it – I needed a change. I ordered the kit and never looked back!

I have since swapped out almost all our household products, I use oils religiously on myself and in our home. They’ve become my go-to. No one has been to the doctor for health-related ailments since and so many of the issues we’d had that I just thought “well, that’s the way it is” are gone. Are there still improvements to be made? Absolutely! Personal growth continues…it never stops and we continue to make changes to our lives.
