My decision to join Young Living Essential Oils came when I realized I was not being the mom I wanted to be or the mom that my daughter needed me to be. My energy was missing, my mood was discouraging, my temper was frightful. A friend of mine shared with me her experience with YL Essential Oils and I said that’s it, something needs to change. So I purchased my YL Premium Starter Kit for Essential Oils and I am off on my path to discovery. I already have experienced the blessing of Young Living Essential Oils! That same friend shared with me Lemon Vitality and Stress Away Essential Oils. I have been adding a drop of each to my water bottle every time I fill it up and I notice the energy boost from the Lemon and the calming effects the Stress Away has on my feeling of being overwhelmed. In just a few days, I can’t believe how quickly the change has occurred. I can’t wait to get the rest of the products! I can’t wait to try the Ningxia Red as well!

Great question! Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids distilled from plants. They are much more potent than fresh or dried herbs, so you can use much less. Each essential oil’s complex, pleasant, and unique scent triggers emotions and memories, which can help in your search for a more fulfilling and balanced life. A natural oil typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic fragrance of the plant or another source from which it is extracted. For an essential oil to be a true essential oil, it must be isolated by physical means only. The physical methods used are distillation (steam, steam/water and water) or expression (also known as cold pressing, a unique feature for citrus peel oils). There is one other method of oil isolation specific to a very limited number of essential oil plants. This is a maceration/distillation. In the process, the plant material is macerated in warm water to release the enzyme-bound essential oil.
When it comes to our essential oils, Young Living sets the standard for purity and authenticity. We carefully monitor every step of the production of our oils from beginning to end through our unique Seed to Seal process, ensuring the purity of each essential oil and protecting nature’s living energy in every bottle. This unsurpassed commitment to quality means that you can be confident that the Young Living essential oils and oil-infused products you use in your home are safe and effective.
Essential oils can be applied to your skin, ingested, or inhaled (or for the technical explanation: You can access the power of essential oils many ways, but the most common practices include aromatic diffusion, topical application, and dietary consumption. These methods bring the pure essence of health-promoting botanicals to your home, family, and life.) You will find hundreds of uses for your essential oils! They are used for aromatherapy, personal care, emotional well-being, nutritional supplements, household cleaners, and much, much more. Here are just a few ways you can use them!
When it comes to inhaling them, you have a couple of options: you can put a few drops in your hand and smell them directly, or you can put them in a diffuser. Diffusing is a great way to keep any room smelling fresh and vibrant all day long, without burning a chemical laden candle.
The other two ways are pretty self-explanatory: you can rub them on your body (topical) or you can injest (eat) them.
Be warned: Some oils are very powerful and if you rub them directly onto your skin, you may break out in a rash. When using a new oil, it’s best to rub it on only a small area first to see how you react. You can always dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil (like coconut oil) to lessen the strength of the oil without changing it beneficial qualities. This is extremely popular with “hot” oils, like peppermint.
And when I say “injest” them – most people just put a few drops in their favorite beverage or on their food. You can also put a few drops under your tongue or buy empty vegetable capsules -add your drops of essential oils and fill the rest with olive oil or fractionated coconut oil.
